The lead pastor at St. Edward’s is the vicar-chaplain, Rev’d Dr Mark Scarlata. Mark is a tutor and lecturer in Old Testament at St Mellitus College in London. He undertook his initial theological training in the United States before coming to Cambridge with his family to complete a PhD. Mark has a passion for theology, biblical studies, and the place of the arts in the church and worship. Some of his recent publications include a theological commentary on Exodus, The Abiding Presence (SCM Press 2018) and his (forthcoming) study of the Sabbath, Sabbath Rest: The Beauty of God’s Rhythm for a Digital World (SCM Press, 2019). Mark lives in Cambridge with his wife Bettina and their children Nathaniel, Madeleine and Annabelle. He is a keen cyclist and can often be found wandering through the Cambridgeshire countryside.
The associate vicar is Rev’d Dr Matthias Grebe, who is currently working on a post-doc through the University of Bonn, in Germany. Matthias completed his PhD on Karl Barth under the supervision of Prof. David Ford in the Cambridge Divinity Faculty. He is married to Vicky and they have two children, Charlotta and Raphael.
Rev’d Roger Revell is an assisting priest (NSM) in the parish, who also lends a hand with administrative matters. He is currently writing a PhD (Systematic Theology) in Cambridge’s Divinity Faculty. Prior to this, Roger served as a pastor in several parishes in Canada, where he was ordained as an Anglican priest after completing his ministerial study/training at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. Roger is married to Cindy and they have one daughter, Audrey.
Our Church Warden is Dr Paul Anderson. Paul is a fellow of Darwin College and a lecture in the Faculty of Near Eastern Studies.
Our Deanery Synod representative is Ms. Alison Hennegan, who is a former Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge and tutor for students reading English at the university.
Our chapter clerk is Mrs. Madison Lyonhart. She recently moved to Cambridge with her husband Jonathan, who doing a doctorate in philosophy of religion. Madison works for Cambridge University, though she will soon be on leave as they prepare to welcome twins into the world.
