The Week at St Edward’s

Next Sunday at St  Edward’s there will be the usual Prayer Book Communion at 8.00 am, at which Fraser will be celebrant.

The 11.00 am service will be Odyssey, and the preacher will be the Revd Professor James W Jones, in Cambridge in sabbatical from Rutgers University. He will be talking about True Transformation, and looking at what spiritual practice in Christianity can learn from Buddhism and Psychotherapy.

On Sunday morning, please also remember Guilia Conto who will be confirmed at the University confirmation service, presented by Malcolm.

At the 5.00 pm Eucharist, Fraser will preach the second of two sermons about people whose meetings with Jesus are recorded in St John’s gospel, talking this week about the Samaritan Woman who Jesus meets at Jacob’s Well.

On Wednesday at 8.00 pm there will be a concert by Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies, as part of their UK tour.

Thursday is Ascension Day, and there will be a special Eucharist at 6.15, at which Fraser will preside and preach.

The student-led Taizé service will continue on Monday at 9.00 pm. On Thursday at 12.30 pm there will be prayers for reconciliation and healing, led by Matt Russell. On Friday, there will be Holy Communion at 10.30 am with Alan Cole, and meditation at 5.30 pm led by Fraser.
