The week commencing 21 October

On Saturday evening (Oct 20th) at St Edward’s there will be contemplative Eucharist at 6.30 pm, with much silence, and using some of Rudolf Steiner’s meditations.

On Sunday at 8.00 am there will be the usual Prayer Book communion service.

At 11.00 am there will be a Eucharist for St Luke’s day, at which Malcolm will preach. The service will include the baptism of Julian Williams.

There will be children’s activities in the vestry during the 11.00 am service on Sunday morning.

At the 5.00 pm Eucharist, Fraser will continue the series on Christian lifestyle, talking this week about simplicity.

The student-led Taize service is now on Mondays at 9.00 pm (all welcome).

On Tuesday at 5.30 pm, Malcolm will conclude his Blake series, talking about Blake and prophesy.

On Wednesday there is On The Edge at 8.00 pm at which Ann Kember will talk on Time/Sex/Love: Exploring Mary Chapin Carpenter. (She is performing at the Corn Exchange the previous evening.)

On Thursday at 12.30 pm, there will be the usual prayers for reconciliation and healing, led by Matt Russell.

On Friday there will be a Prayer Book Communion service at 10.30, led by Alan Cole; and the meditation group at 5.30 pm, led by Fraser.

The week commencing 14 October

Sunday at St Edward’s will start with the usual Prayer Book communion service at 8.00 am.

The 11.00 am service will be a special service for World Mental Health Day, at which Matt Russell will talk about personal fear.

At the 5.00 pm Eucharist, Fraser will continue his series on Christian lifestyle, talking this week about caring.

The student-led Taize service will move to Mondays at 9.00 pm from this week (starting Oct 15th)

On Tuesday at 5.30 pm, Malcolm continues his Blake series, talking about Blake and Jesus.

On Wednesday there is On The Edge at 8.00 pm with Matt talking about the role of doubt in faith, linking it to the REM rock song, ‘losing my religion’.

On Thursdays at 12.30 pm, there will be lunchtime prayers for reconciliation and healing, led by Matt Russell.

On Fridays there will be a Prayer Book Communion service at 10.30, led by Alan Cole; and the meditation group at 5.30 pm, led by Fraser.
