This Week at St. Edwards

The 11.00 am service at St Edward’s on Sunday will be a Eucharist, at which Malcolm will talk about what we mean by ‘redemption’, one of those words Christians often use but don’t always explain.

The 5.00 pm Eucharist will be a healing service, with laying on of hands. Fraser will talk about how Jesus prioritises generosity over fairness, in a way that subverts many of our usual assumptions about the structure of society.

There will be Prayer Book Communion Services next week on Sunday at 8.00 am (Andrew Davison) and on Friday at 10.30 am (Alan Cole).

There will be lunchtime prayers at 12.30 pm on Thursday, and the meditation group will meet at 5.30 pm on Friday, both led by Fraser.

I hope we will all pray urgently for peace and reconciliation in Syria and the Middle East. I am pleased that the Archbishop of Canterbury has urged caution about military strikes, and warned about unforeseeable ramifications across the whole Arab and Muslim world.
