Sunday live stream…

Greetings everyone…

It was so wonderful to see everyone who joined us at the church this morning, but I wanted to send my apologies for those who tried to join via the live stream. The video seemed to be working but there was a glitch with the audio. We’ll run some tests this week to make sure everything is up and running for next week. Again, I’m sorry for the technical difficulties. If you are able, please do join us next Friday at 10.30am or next Sunday at 11am. We’ll send out an email with service links later this week, but you’ll be able to find the livestreams on our youtube channel

Blessings…

Mark

Services This Week

Greetings Everyone,

This morning we held our first BCP Holy Communion service back in the church. We apologise for those who tried to join in via livestream. Unfortunately, we encountered some technical difficulties, but we hope those are now resolved and all will go smoothly on Sunday.

A reminder that our Sunday Service at 11 am will take place at church with proper social distancing in place if you would like to join us. Our service will also be broadcast live via our YouTube Channel. We will have service sheets available at the church, but you can also access it here (12 July 2020 Service Sheet) for those who are joining via livestream.

Service Update and Youtube streaming…

Greetings everyone…

I hope you are all well and continue to keep safe. We’re excited to announce that this week we will be worshipping in the church! Our time together will look slightly different, but we’re excited none-the-less. We’ll give further details and guidance during the services, but we’ll ask that everyone take any necessary precautions to make sure the worship space is as safe as possible. We ask that everyone maintain physical distance inside the building as per government requirements. A hand sanitizer station will be set up. An offering basket will be placed near the West door. Please keep your bulletins and recycle at home. And of course, if you’re not feeling well please do not come into the church but join us online.

Youtube Livestream: The great news is that the audio/video system has been installed and we’ll give it a test run this Friday for the BCP Eucharist. This means we will no longer be meeting via zoom, but you can go direct to our YouTube home page and click ‘subscribe’ to get the latest updates. All of our services will be broadcast on this channel from now on. If you can’t join live, the videos will remain up on the site afterward.

10 June: Friday BCP 10.30am: This week I will lead our Friday Eucharist in the Clare Chapel. We will not have a coffee time in the church after the service, but please feel free to meet locally outside the church for coffee/tea. We will try to make arrangements for this in the future, but just not for this week. If you have a BCP book you might bring it with you. Otherwise we will have paper copies of the service at the church. To watch the service live, please click on the youtube link above or go directly to our youtube channel.

12 June: Sunday Eucharist 11am: Please do join us if you can for our worship on Sunday. We are not allowed to sing hymns together but Helen is excited to be back on the organ! We’ll have some slight changes to the service that we’ll guide you through on the morning. We will have coffee servers after the service as we stand and chat with appropriate distance. You may want to bring your own travel mug otherwise we will have paper, recyclable cups available.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday, but if for any reason you’re not comfortable coming in person please join us via the youtube livestream

Blessings…

Mark

Our Sunday Service will once again take place via Zoom and will be recorded for YouTube as well. Here is the 5 July 2020 Service Sheet and the link for the Zoom meeting. Once again we will begin with a virtual coffee time at 10:30am and the service will start at 11am. We hope you can join us.

As always we are grateful for all of your gifts! Offerings may still be given during this time via Standing Orders or one time bank transfer, via BACS [SORT: 20-17-19 / ACCT #: 30851477 – “St Edwards Church Vestry Fund”]

Correction…

Apologies everyone…my mind is still in a bit of a time-warp from lockdown. The previous email should read ‘July’ for the dates of the services, not ‘June’.

I need to get caught up to the right month! 😉

Blessings…

Important Update on Worship Services…

Greetings everyone…

I’m sure you’re aware of the new government guidelines that allow for churches to open for worship this weekend. We have received additional guidance from the diocese and have considered whether or not to hold services at St. Edward’s this Sunday. After a lot of prayer and deliberation, we have decided not to hold services this Sunday. We still need to do some more cleaning and put a plan in place to make sure the church is as safe as possible for when we return. We want to make the space as welcoming as possible and we realise that we’ll need a lot of volunteer help during the service to make sure everyone is safe.

The other reason we have decided to wait is because our new audio/video system is being installed this Monday-Tuesday so it seemed to make sense to wait till Sunday 12 June before we gather in the church for worship when we’ll be able to live stream the service. We realise that some who are still shielding will not be able to join us in the building and we want to make every effort to include them in the church community. We’ll pass on more details about opening for worship on Sunday 12 June, but in the meantime we’ll continue our worship via zoom and will send out the weekly email with the link and service sheet for this Sunday.

However, because the size of service tends to be much smaller than Sunday, we will be offering our BCP Eucharist at 10.30 on Friday 10 June. We will arrange the chairs in the Clare chapel appropriately and will distribute the Eucharist in one kind (bread only). Unfortunately we will not be able to have coffee afterwards until we get some clarification on whether this complies with the new guidelines. For those who cannot join, we will test our YouTube livestream from the church and will send more details next week.

Thank you for being so patient with us. We long to be together again but I think waiting one more week will help us all. If you have any questions or concerns, please do be in touch with me or Matthias.

With all blessings…

Mark
